Our Story

The story of Branches of the Vine is one of faith, obedience, and trusting

God’s plan, no matter where it leads. Over 25 years ago, Frank Myers felt

a strong calling to do more within the church. He had been involved in prison

ministry and began serving in various areas of his community. But there was one

person who persistently encouraged him to travel to Ghana. After a year of being

asked, Frank finally gave in, planning just a single trip to get Alfred off his back—and then

return to his work in prison ministry.

However, that trip changed everything. While in Ghana, Frank visited the village of Twerbo, a remote farming community of about 600 people. The village had no electricity, no church, no school, no health facilities, and no clean water. The only source of water was a stagnant, polluted pond. Frank was deeply moved by the dire conditions and realized that something had to be done.

Driven by a sense of purpose, Frank began to raise funds for a clean water source and a school for the village. At the time, he had no intention of starting a nonprofit or formal organization. He simply saw a need and felt called to take action. But as he continued to rally support, others also sensed God’s call to join the effort. Together, they helped transform the village—and in the process, Branches of the Vine was born.

Through this journey, we’ve learned that when we trust God and follow where He leads, amazing things can happen. By stepping out in faith and allowing God to work through us, we’ve seen lives transformed, communities uplifted, and the love of Christ spread far and wide. Branches of the Vine continues to be a testament to the power of obedience and the incredible ways God works when we allow Him to take the lead.
